Ferrite Countersunk Magnets
Ferrite countersunk magnets are a versatile and affordable type of permanent magnet, ideally suited to DIY projects, furniture design and shop fittings. Engineered with a countersunk hole, they’re easily fixed onto surfaces using a matching screw, making them a great option for fixings.
Available with either pole on the magnetic face, ferrite countersunk magnets can be used to attract or repel. When using two magnets to attract each other, make sure the opposite poles are facing each other. As well as a host of other applications, ferrite countersunk magnets can be found in gate latches, soft-closing systems, screens, window displays and shelving.
Because ferrite magnets are made primarily of iron oxide (rusted iron), they’re extremely affordable to produce, making them considerably cheaper than rare-earth magnets such as neodymium. Although they only operate at one-tenth the strength of neodymium, ferrite countersunk magnets still offer incredible performance. They can withstand much higher temperatures than regular neodymium magnets, and are also more resistant to corrosion.
